Borjomi the Beautiful

Borjomi is a mountain village a couple of hours from Tbilisi. We went there last weekend, on a getaway spree, "escape the city!!" -- the drive there on the highway is crazy: lots of four-car-abreast, look-out-for-me, my-car-is-bigger-than-your'n, I'm-drunker-'n-you, lets-play-chicken crazy driving on a two lane road. But we made it, up the mountain, into the scenic, foliageriffic, and clearly lake-placid-esque Borjomi, home of fabled Borjomi mineral water. We hiked to the spring, guarded by cows; and partook of the water: mmm, warm and salty. Borjomi also is home to a very large national park, which we went hiking up into...what an amazing place: we will return!

Wild grapes on the vine at our hotel: still autumn!

The landscape is like vermont x west virginia
